Obituary of Jane Bamford Taylor

Jane Luise Bamford Taylor passed away on December 26, 2007 at her home in Wayne, NJ. Jane had battled Parkinsons disease, but was able to remain home in familiar surroundings throughout her illness. She celebrated her 80th birthday this past March 5th. Born in Paterson, NJ in 1927 to parents Joseph C. and Luise Whitehead Bamford, She graduated as an RN from the Columbia Presbyterian Hospital School of Nursing, NYC and cared for our armed forces in Okinawa, Japan during the Korean War, where she married Lt. J. Robert Taylor of Irvington, NJ. She raised her family in Ho-Ho-Kus, NJ where she was involved in community service and was a generous volunteer. She was active with the Eastern Christian Childrens Retreat and the Ladies Auxiliary at St. Josephs - Wayne Hospital, where she followed in her fathers footsteps by serving on the Board of Directors for many years. She also was active with the Florence Christian Home in Wyckoff, NJ. Always reaching out to those in need, she touched countless lives with her kind and generous spirit. The holidays were Mrs. Taylors favorite times of the year and she always enjoyed sharing them with her immediate and extended family. Whether she was organizing fundraising events or orchestrating her annual Easter Egg Hunt, her contagious energy always raised the level of others participation. Jane was kindness personified. Her warmth and gentle nature welcomed all into her heart and into her home. She wished only to be remembered as a devoted mother and daughter. Janes family was her passion and she never shied from her commitment to their success and happiness. Janes generous spirit, embrace of life and uncompromised support of her family will be missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her children, J. Robert and his wife Kathy Taylor of Wellesley, MA; Richard B. and his wife Paula Taylor of Palm Coast, FL; Craig and his wife Juli Taylor of Wayne, NJ; Robbin and her husband George Peirce of Pompton Lakes, NJ; and Lois and her husband Matthew Baldwin of Sergeantsville, NJ. She was a proud grandmother to Kate, Hannah, and Matthew Taylor; Bobby Taylor, D.D. and Georgia Peirce; and Chad and Nathan Baldwin. She is also survived by her brother, Dr. Joseph and his wife Sue Bamford, of Dorset, Vermont; Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 10:00a.m. at Moores Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Rd, Wayne. Interment at Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson.
