Obituary of Alma Sumpter

Alma (Truhar) Sumpter, age 94, died Saturday, September 8, 2007 at St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital, Wayne. Mrs. Sumpter was born November 6, 1912 in Paterson, NJ the daughter of the late George and the late Fanny (Esker) Truhar. She lived in Wayne and was formerly of Waldwick. She was retired from A & P Tea Co. Paterson,NJ in 1977 where she was a Cook. Mrs. Sumpter was a member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Wayne and the Wayne Golden Age Club and the Waldwick Fire Auxillary. She is survived by two daughters: Lois Peterson and Valerie Richardson, one son: Neville Sumpter ,14 grandchildren 33 great grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. She was predeceased by her Son, James and Husband, Edgar T. Sumpter. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 3-6 PM. The funeral service will be Tuesday at 5:30 pm at Moore's Home For Funerals, and will be Celebrated by Fr. John Donnelly. Private Cremation will follow at Laurel Grove Crematory, Totowa.
