Obituary of Charles Frederick Braunlin, III
Charles Frederick Braunlin, III, age 75, died Monday, July 2, 2007 at Chilton Memorial Hospital. Mr. Braunlin was born April 14, 1932 in Paterson, NJ, the son of the late Charles Francis and the late Ruth (Ridgeway) Braunlin. He lived in Pompton Lakes for 51 years. Charles was retired from the U.S. Post Office in Pompton Lakes in 1992. He had been a letter carrier and facilitator there since 1976. Before that he was a layout artist at Continental Can in Paterson where he was responsible for the design of the Coca-Cola can. Mr. Braunlin was a member and Deacon at the Pompton Reformed Church in Pompton Lakes where he also taught Sunday school, was a youth leader and very active in countless other church activities. He was also a member of the Passaic County chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America. Charles was an avid woodworker and gifted artist and also Bing Crosbys number one fan.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Cunningham, daughters: Joan and her husband Mark Warner of Kinnelon, Cathy Lee and her husband Edward Iczkowski of Rockaway Township, and grand-daughter, Christin and grandson, Michael.
Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm.
The funeral will be Friday at 11:00 am at Moore's Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Road, Wayne and will be celebrated by Rev. Thomas Bartha. Interment will be in Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.
