Obituary of Michael S. Brande
Michael S. Brande, age 84, died Thursday, February 16, 2006 at St. Joseph's Wayne Hospital, Wayne. Mr. Brande was born August 27, 1921 in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late Cono and the late Mildred (Dramis) Brande. He lived in Wayne and was formerly of Brooklyn,NY and Hollywood, Fl. He served in the US Airforce with the 394th Bomb Squad Group and completed 30 missions in a B-26 Bomber called Dolly Dumps during World War II.
Mr. Brande is the subject of the book 586 Bomb Squadron Bridge Buster by Lewis Guernsey.
He was employed by the Ball Corporation based in Muncie, Indiana for over 35 years retiring as the international Director of Sales- Zinc Division. In Hollywood Florida he also owned and operated Modern Supply Company until 1992.
Mr. Brande was a parishioner of Most Blessed Sacrament RC Church, Franklin Lakes.
He is survived by his wifeof 62 years,the former: Lucille Chisena of Wayne, one daughter: Lynda and her husband John Mamone of Franklin Lakes and one son: Michael and his wife Gretchen L. of Jacksonville, FL, one sister: Annette Le Vara of Brooklyn, NY, 4 Grandchildren: David, Michelle, Gordon And Mark and 4 Great Grandchildren: Jesse, RubyJean And Noah
He was predeceased by his grandson, John Francis Mamone, Jr. in 1987.
Visiting hours will be Sunday from 3-6 pm at Moore's Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Road, Wayne, NJ. The funeral will be Monday at 10:00 AM at Most Blessed Sacrament RC Church, 787 Franklin Lakes Road, Franklin Lakes where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated. Burial will be in Christ The King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes.
