Grandpa,
There are not enough words to say to let you know how much you mean to me. You were so much a part of my life and you will always remain that way.
You were a great teacher. You taught me that the value of love and family is greater than all the money in the world. You taught me that sometimes life isn't fair but you have to keep going and hope for the best. And you taught me that even tough guys like to have their hair combed and put in curlers!! :) And most of all, you taught me that you must try to laugh through your tears.
One day when Barielle is old enough to understand, I will be able to tell her about one of the greatest men in this world. A man that loved her very, very much. A man, that even in the worst of situations, she was still able to put a smile on his face. She may not be able to be around him, but she will always know the love he had in his heart. For he was the greatest of all great-grandpas!!
Though your days with us are through,
Your love for us still lives.
Mourn, will not do for you,
Rather, praise is what we give.
For your smile carried us through our day,
And your hugs and kisses through the night.
In the worst of times you dare not stray,
Rather promised it would be all right.
Your memory will not pass,
Yet your legacy will go on.
We will tell them when they ask,
