I knew Dick at Central High where we first met. He played the piano and I played football. Although two opposites, our spirits somehow connected.
I recall the sad days when Dick needed the support of his friends when his sister Connie passed away suddenly.
Our life paths took us in different directions, his in music and mine in engineering until we met again at the Central High reunions and recalled our time together
A legacy that Dick left for me was a stong motivation for piano therapy for my grandaughter , Melinda who lives with us and has Williams Syndrome . Like other Williams children she can be reached though music and somehow I always think of Dick whenever I see her hands moving over the keyboard in that gentle way that Dick had.
Dick , you will always be remenbered in my heart.

As representative of the Ridgewood Symphony Orchestra, I can say how grateful we have been for the opportunity to perform Richard's works.
Personally, I'm honored to have known this wonderful gentleman who gave so much of himself in the name of music.
The music world will suffer a great loss but for any one who has known Dick, your heart may feel pain but you too are grateful for the encounter.
