Obituary of Paul K. Chao
Dr.Paul K. Chao, age 93, died peacefully at his home in Wayne on Saturday, January 5, 2013. Dr. Chao was born December 26, 1919 in Cheng Ting, China, the son of the late Joseph and the late Antonette Liu (Chao) Chao. He was a graduate of Cambridge University, London, England and NYU in New York. Dr. Chao was employed by William Paterson University, Wayne, NJ as a Professor of Anthropology for over 40 years before retiring. He published six books and most recently in April, 2012 one called Witchcraft and Sorcery. Dr. Chao was a member of Annunciation of The Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church, Wayne.
He is survived by his wife: Patricia (Drapala) Chao and one son: Edward Liu. He was predeceased by his 1st Wife, Denise Wang in 1993.
Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2-5 PM.
The funeral Mass will be Friday at 10:30 am at Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary R.C. Church, 45 Urban Club Rd., Wayne will be celebrated by Msgr. Peter J. Doody.
Interment will be in Christ the King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes.
