All those who have known Cila will miss her. She was a wonderful human being….caring, kind, loving, smart. Any positive words would easily describe Cila. I knew her for more than 45 years as a seamstress and a friend. We often exchanged personal stories and conversations with tears and smiles. I am so saddened by this tremendous loss. Cila, you now know the secret of the afterlife. May you rest in the arms of the angels forever. Your friend, Lorraine Cece

My Parents, and the Suri's were old friends born around the same time and region "Florida, Camaguey Cuba"
I remember going to Suri's house [as my parents would say] in the late 60's and Sila would be there always happy to see us and making us feel greater then we were, Her house was heaven to me in the late 60's where I played with Tuti, cousin Orlando Martinez, Mongolito and others.
Now the Lord has called her back home where the rest of the pack awaited her arrival, to reunite once more in eternal peace with God and the greatest generation of Cubans I've ever known..
My sincere condolences to Suri and the rest of the family, you can rest assure that she's in God's world now..

I was fortunate to live a block from the Suri's and grew up with Elizabeth. Sila was an integral part of my teens. I was a competitive Figure Skater and she made all of my dress's for Competition. There was never a time I would go for a fitting that she wouldn't try to feed me! I remember having to call her when I got to the gate because of her dog that always looked like it wanted to bite me! Such a wonderful woman ,compassionate, kind and gracious and boy did she love her family!! I went back to NJ a couple of years ago to visit and I made a point to go and see Sila, say hello and I am glad I did!! As we all grew up, had out own families and moved away there was never a time I didn't have to get something altered that I didn't refer to her. "I had a great Seamstress growing up" are you as good? LOL. You left a mark with everyone you knew and now you get to have cocktails with my Mom and Dad and dress those Angels in style....Thank You for making me look and feel pretty!! Rest in peace Sila..........

I’m so sorry to read this. She sounded so good and strong when we last spoke at Christmas. Sila was a gem of a lady and seamstress! I will miss our chats. We talked longer than it took for her to tailor my clothes and I was there often. May she now rest in peace and to her family I send my deepest sympathies.

My deepest sympathies to the Suri family. I will always remember Sila for her infectious laugh and sense of humor. She was the best seamstress in Paterson. I always remember her Entemann’s pound cake on the kitchen table. She will be truly missed. May God grant you and your family the strength to bear this loss. ☦️
