It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Doris (Andreotta) Turrin, 92, on Tuesday, February 2, 2021.
Doris died peacefully at her senior living residence in Woodcliff Lake, NJ where she had been in hospice care for several weeks. Doris was born in Clifton, the daughter of Peter and Theresa Andreotta. She graduated from Clifton High School in 1945. She moved from Clifton with her husband, Marino, to Pines Lake in Wayne, where she lived for over 65 years. Following Marino's death in 1980, she successfully managed a family real estate business in Wayne for 35 years. Doris was kind, loving and generous. She cherished and nurtured her relationships with friends and family, enjoying visits, long telephone chats and corresponding regularly through birthday cards and notes brimming with cheer and countless clippings from magazines and newspapers. She also loved to tell her grandchildren about the changes that she witnessed during her life. As a child, she would buy fruit from a vendor who used a horse drawn wagon. By the end of her life, she enjoyed receiving e-mail messages.
Doris is survived by her three sons: Thomas (Ann Powers); Robert (Linda Wharton); and Richard (Sharon Lin); and four grandchildren: Elizabeth, Sarah, Patricia and Martin.
Due to the pandemic, a private graveside service will be held. A memorial service will be held at a later time.
