Obituary of George A. Kick

George A. Kick, age 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2020 at home. Mr. Kick was born in Queens, NY the son of the late Albert George and the late Florence Anna (Mueller) Kick. He lived in Wayne and was formerly of Bloomfield. He served in the US Navy. George graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a master's degree in finance. He then was employed by New Jersey Bank for 20 years and retired from Ryan Beck & Co, LLC in Livingston after 15 years as a broker. Mr. Kick was a Secular Franciscan, a Past-President of the Rotary Club in Passaic, Past-Treasurer of the Pompton Lakes Elks, and a member of the Knights of Columbus, and the Pines Lake Seniors. He was an avid fisherman, and he enjoyed reading and travel. George was immensely proud of his children and grandchildren. Mr. Kick loved God, his family, and his country. He is survived by his beloved wife of 48 years Mary (Apryasz) Kick; his loving children David John and his wife Dina Marie Kick, Jennifer Ann Sawyer and Wayne Bognar; his cherished grandchildren, Megan, Jonathan, Emily, Thomas and Jillian; and his dear brother Donald and his wife, the late Carole Kick. George was predeceased by his parents, Albert and Florence (Mueller). Friends are welcome to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 from 3-7 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral Mass will be Thursday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 17 Pompton Ave, Pompton Lakes which will be celebrated by Fr. Gonzalo Torres-Acosta. Interment will be in Christ The King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes.
