How hard it is to write this. How do you put 42 years of a good friendship into a few lines? George was a large man in stature and personality and when he laughed everybody heard him . I remember all the dinners we had together the crazing camping trip. The midnight ride into the Franciscan center on W. 31st St. ; the anniversary party The weekends away. George hasn’t passed away he just went home to where his parents uncles cousins and sister-in-law and last but not least his friend John is waiting for him. And so my friend this is not goodbye this is until we meet again may God be holding you in the palm of his hand. Thank you George for all the great memories that will sustain us until we meet again loved you your Irish friend Margaret Urban

George ... I'm heartbroken to lose one of my favored and closest Kick cousins.
Besides blood, We shared another bond together, because it was through my mother that your father met your mother. My mother and Florence Mueller were personal friends, and your Dad was my Mom's brother, so they met at parties at the old Kick homestead at 296 Powers Street in Williamsburgh, Brooklyn.
You and I were the oldest of the long string of Kick cousins to follow, and we were the closest in age.. In our youth we spent a lot of time together when you were growing up in Glendale and I in Maspeth (N.Y.) After your family moved to N.J. for Dad's job, we spent less time together because of distance, but we still kept in touch.
In retrospect, I'm very grateful that I reached out to you late last year and we were able to spend hours together during many pleasant phone chats reviving old family memories and re-telling old family stories. We had a lot of fun during those chats and a lot of laughs. Treasured memories.
George, you lived a good life, gave your all, always did your very best at everything, and now you deserve the peace you so richly deserve. Rest in peace, dear heart. You will be missed and the world will be a poorer place without you.
Madeline,
(Madeline Bovery Galbraith, cousin)

I met Mary over 40 years ago when David came to our block for the first time & got his foot caught in his bike wheel. Mary came rushing down from Mohawk as the two of us teary - eyes mothers made sure David was okay. He was, Thank God.
After that, our husbands met & became fast friends. Once they introduced us to Donald & Carole we became 6 fast friends, going to dinners, graduations, weddings, & all the wonderful things life offers.
Then, about 10 years ago, we lost Carole, & someone would be missing forever. Now we've lost George, & some day in the near future, we will lose another of us '6', but oh the joy of having gone through decades together.
Miss you George. Rest in peace.
God bless,
Loretta & Mike

Mary, David and Jennifer,
Frank and I are saddened by the passing of George. As David’s in laws we will miss all the laughs we had at family dinners over the years. George and Frank often engaged in conversations of their years in service and the many books they read. We will miss him and will never forget him.
May George be resting in peace in God’s Heavenly Kingdom.

George was my best friend. I was fortunate to have served on a committee that was hiring management trainees at the former New Jersey Bank and we unanimously voted to hire George. We also attended Fairleigh Dickinson University for our Masters Degrees and would occasionally pass each other. George proved to be a very capable member of the bank team and that's when we started to become friends. His wife, Mary, also worked at he bank and they soon developed a relationship that resulted in their marriage, two children and subsequently Grandchildren. George and I have celebrated our birthdays with a grand dinner at one of our favorite restaurants for the past 20-30 years,at least. We also celebrated other occasions with our wives. either at dinners, parties, etc. He ultimately left the bank and joined Ryan Beck, an investment house, where he became highly successful and subsequently became my broker. George and I would banter back and forth with each one thinking to have the upper hand. It was all in fun and good comradeship. I miss George already and have a hole in my life that will not easily be filled. Rest in Peace, George. You will be missed by all.
