With the news of Al's passing having just come to my notice, I wanted to belatedly offer my sincere condolences to the surviving members of the Piazza family.
Having known Al since "way back when", I wanted to share a few memories and post a few photos of those times.
The photos will show us together in the "dollhouse" (our hangout conveniently located in the Piazza's back yard, Al on stage with Mike Gunderman at the "Sunny and the Planets" party, a photo booth shot of his brother John, Peter Keene and Al popping in and a shot of Al sporting his new Tom Jones look alike perm.
We sojourned with friends to Woodstock and the nonexistent Powder Ridge festival the following year.
I also stood as Al's best man at his wedding.

I just learned of Al’s passing. I’m so sorry and so sad. I worked with Al for 30 years but we were more friends than coworkers. Too many times to count did I go see him and the Pickles play. What memories! And as someone mentioned, I could write a book of ALerisms. Now he joins his precious Mother and Father and he’s singing and playing with the angels. Rest In Peace my dear friend.

Al was one of the only people we let babysit either our children or pets! The best was coming home at 1 AM and Al and Kelly (age 2) were sitting on the couch watching Letterman. I said, "Why is she still up?" and Al said, "she hasn't given any indication of being tired yet." Why would she be tired when she could be awake with the funniest guy around? I met Al about 42 years ago and it has been a blessing to know someone so honest, artistic, informed and kind. He brought good things to this earthly existence. He was the highest standard for a friend. It's going to be sad for everyone, but soon we can just laugh recalling one of his unique comments, quips, jokes or rants! LOVE you forever! Jane Ann Tomney

I met Al in 1995 when I started working at Prudent.
Back then, he sported a ponytail! When I think of Al, I think about how he was always making wisecracks, talking about his beloved Pickles, & saying "Not for nothin', but." He was a real character & will be missed by his family, whom he loved very much & by all his many friends. R.I.P. old pal.

I had not seen Al in over 30 years since Karen and moved to RI.
We first met in high school, but got to know one another better through music and playing in a couple bands together. Fun times, lots of laughs, and great music. I still repeat some of Al’s one liners after all these years. A great friend who truly left an impression on me and everyone who knew him. Rest In Peace my friend.

There is so much to say about my cousin Al. He lit up a room with his presence and hilarious sense of humor. He added so much to our family memories which we will all treasure forever. He cared about everyone and will be surly missed not only by me but by everyone’s life he touched. God bless you and someday we will all be together again.
Love ❤️ you Al

I have known Al for 36 years. He was my DJ partner and co owner of Bert Bros. DJs for 25 of those years. He was an amazing, talented, funny guy who everyone loved. To say this world will be a duller place without him is an understatement. To say I will miss him deeply is another understatement. Rest In Peace Al. You were the best.

My older brother Al and I shared the same bedroom growing up. He was 13 and I was 12 when the radio alarm clock went off playing "I Want to Hold Your Hand' by The Beatles. We were mesmerized. Al bought his first guitar shortly afterward. I bought my guitar when I realized it was too difficult to share one guitar. That was the start of our shared love for the guitar. Many of our memories involve music, and of course laughter. Al could alway make me laugh.
