Obituary of Joseph Graffagnino

Joseph Graffagnino, age 71, passed away on Monday, July 9, 2018. Mr. Graffagnino was born in Brooklyn, the son of the late Joseph and the late Josephine (Fiorello) Graffagnino. He was raised in Richmond Hill, Queens before settling in Old Bridge over 30 years ago. Joseph served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He spent most of his career as a director of tax services. He had a great love for his family and enjoyed cooking for them. He was known for his amazing Eggplant Parmigiana. He was a loyal NY Jets and Mets fan as well as a horse racing enthusiast. Joseph cherished his time vacationing with his loving wife in Aruba, Atlantic City and Las Vegas.

Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 46 years Amelia (Sclafani); his loving children, Joseph Graffagnino and partner Erika Blancas, and daughter Sara and her husband Dennis O'Connor; cherished grandchildren, John and Devin O'Connor; his brothers and their wives Jack and Janice Graffagnino, Matthew and Michelle Graffagnino and sister Roseann Spengler; and many nieces and nephews. 

Friends are welcome to attend the visiting hours on Sunday, July 15, 2018 from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.

The funeral will be on Monday at 9:00 a.m. at the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Consolation R.C. Church, 1799 Hamburg Tpke, Wayne and which will be celebrated by Fr. Michael D. Lombardo.

Interment will be in the NJ Veterans Cemetery in Wrightstown on Wednesday, July 18, 208 at 2:00 p.m.
