Obituary of Elsie Marie Canning

Elsie Marie (Felter) Canning, age 96, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2015 at home in Totowa. Mrs. Canning was born February 19, 1919 in Paterson, the daughter of the late Samuel and the late Fannie (Hunt) Felter. She was a homemaker and an avid fisherwoman. Mrs. Canning is survived by her beloved children, Joan and her husband John Salek, William and his wife Karen Canning, and Robert and his wife Beth Canning; her devoted grandchildren, Joni, Robbie, Travis, Adam, Lorey and Robert John; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Kellie, Samantha, Mackenzie, Chase, Makayla, Laney and Zachary. She was predeceased by her husband William G. Canning in 1992. Visiting hours will be Sunday, November 29, 2015 from 2-6 p.m. There will be a funeral service on Sunday at 5:30 pm at the funeral home celebrated by Rev. Patricia Honszer.
