Katie was like a second mother to me. I spent more time with her as a teen working at the Outlet than with my own family. She is the sweetest woman I have ever known even when she got her Irish up. I have so many wonderful memories of time spent with Katie. She lovingly allowed me to pretend to be grown up and take Jen to the salon and then out to dinner when I was just a kid. I also remember running to her house and crying to her when my love life was a mess. She could always be counted on to listen and then give straight forward advice. She had the patience of a saint with all of us kids, her own and those of us who adopted her. After Capezio we stayed in touch: even if it was when I would call up pretending to be an annoying customer to make her laugh. When Jen died we all felt her loss, but never as much as when in Kay's presence. Although the world will never be the same, I know that Katie and Jen are now in heaven together. My love and prayers are with Uncle Pete and Jeff

Dear Pete,
Paul and I were very saddened to hear about your beloved Kay. She was an extraordinarily kind, compassionate and wonderful woman. I will always remember how kind you both were to my sister and her children when my brother-in-law passed away. You both kept in touch with her daily to make sure she was doing okay. She loved you both very much.
Her beloved Jennifer and her loving family were there to embrace her with loving arms. I am sure my sister Paulie was there too.
Every so often in one's life, someone comes along who takes a very special place in your heart. For Paul and me, it was Kay.
Rest in peace Kay.
Love,
Ann and Paul Simonetti

One of the nicest women I have ever known has been called back to heaven. God blessed us by sending one of his angels, and we called that angel Mrs. L. Everyone should be so lucky to know a woman like that, let alone live next door to her for so many years. One enduring image I will always have is Mrs. L. gardening around their pool. This is a sad time for us, but knowing she is with Jennifer looking down on their family brings me peace.
Mr. L and Jeff,
Know that my thoughts, prayers, and love are with you at this time. May God bless you both!

A women who meant as much to me as my own mom and a family who stood beside mine in good times bad times and all times in between. Jennifer meant the world to me and all through the years could be found tripping on Jeff' s heals. Pete and Jeff my thoughts and prayers will be with you tomorrow and Thursday . Michael.

Pete and Jeff,
Your mother was a kind, wonderful woman. As my sisters and I look back on our childhood we realize just how lucky we were to have neighbors who opened their doors (and their pool) to the neighborhood children as if they were their own. We were always greeted with a smile and a laugh and our lives were truly enriched by seeing your wonderful mother on a daily basis. It was truly a wonderful time in our lives.
I am very sad today but I just keep thinking of things like the neighborhood picnic and ball games in the street as I think of your wonderful mom.
Know that you are in my thoughts . . .

Mr. LoRe. Jeff, Laura and Anthony,
I am so sorry about your loss this week of your Mom and wife. I loved Kay so much. She was like a second mom to us all on White Birch Court. I know she had been suffering so much. Dad always kept me up to date. I pray that she is at peace now and is with Jennifer and that God is with all of you!
Sympathy and Love,
Liz (McKay) Bonner

Words cannot express how deeply my entire family and I are devastated by Kay's loss. My mom and I got to know Kay and Pete after the loss of Jennifer, who was in law school with me, and we spent many hours together both in happiness and in quiet sorrow over the death of our loved ones. Kay's quiet strength never failed to inspire me to face life's dark hours, and I only know that I am just so happy that she got to spend one last year of happiness with Anthony before her final days. Kay, we love you so much, and the Zaretski, Simonetti, Halik, and Smith families were enriched just by your love and friendship. Rest forever in peace.
Love,
Patrick and Nicci
