I will miss you Barbara...
When I came to Pines Lake in the 80's, your door was always open wide, literally unlocked, to welcome me to sit and talk and visit. We were both Cub Scout leaders to many very active boys, including our own, who are now in their thirties. I distinctly remember your own mother appearing at a meeting as Betsy Ross and delivering an American Flag to our troop. Our exchange of Christmas cards and notes always spoke of the love, joy and pride of your children and family. When I called you recently, I never thought it would be our last conversation. You loved your garden, especially in Winter, and your note cards always had the distinct addition of lovely pressed flowers and leaves. My sympathy and love to all those that you've left behind...
I like to quote this song...
" Friends are friends forever,
If the Lord's the Lord of them,
And a friend will not say "Never",
'Cause the welcome will not end...
Though it's hard to let you go-
In the Father's Hands we know,
That a lifetime's not too long to live as friends!"
