Obituary of Ruth Ann McGrievy

____________________________________________________________________________ McGrievy, Ruth Ann (Jenkinson), age 73, of Wayne, died September 23, 2010 at 7 am with her family by her side. She was born in Paterson General Hospital, Paterson, NJ, the daughter of James W. Jenkinson and Ruth Elizabeth Christ and lived in Wayne all her life. Ruth graduated from Wayne High school class of 1955. She then went on to Hackensack School of Nursing and became a Registered Nurse in 1958. Ruth's early nursing career began at Hackensack Hospital on the Medical/Surgical Unit and East Orange General in the Emergency room. She then stopped working to raise her two children. Ruth returned to work in 1985 at North Jersey Developmental Center, Totowa. She worked there for 16 years and retired from North Jersey as a Supervisor of Nursing in 1998. Ruth Ann is predeceased by her husband Brian J. McGrievy. Surviving are her son Mark McGrievy and his fianc Dr. Sharmyn Clark of Chagrin Falls, OH, her daughter Claire Finley and her husband William of Wayne; Cherished grandmother of Kyle and Shawn McGrievy of Orange Village, OH and Brianne Finley of Wayne, NJ; sister of Jane Howard of St. Augustine, FL; six nieces and nephews and 10 great nieces and nephews. Ruth Ann was a member of United Methodist Church in Wayne. She was active with her Wayne High School 1955 Reunion Committee and her Nursing School classmates. She was a member of the Red Hat Society. Ruth loved to knit, bake, sew and feed anyone that walked into her home. Ruth Ann had the heart of a nurse. She worked hard her entire life taking care of many relatives and friends. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, especially her cherished friend Angelo Giangerelli. Visiting on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. at Moore's Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Rd, Wayne. Funeral on Monday at 10 am at the funeral home. Entombment at Calvary Cemetery in Paterson.
