Ray: You will alwasys be my number one guy. I truly love you from the bottom of my heart. My heart aches to know I could not save you when you needed me most. We were always able to clear the paths before us but not this time. I always was so proud to be at your side, on your arm wherever we went. I alwasy felt that I was with the best looking guy in the room & I was. YOur spirit will live on with the organs you gave in death, so that others could live on. It was an honor and privilege to be your wife & best friend for the last 40 years. With all my love forever. Monk

I was just a newly ordained priest from Ireland serving as assistant pastor at St Agnes Parish Paterson from 1960 to 1966 when I met Ray and all of the Ruffilo family. I remember him as a very energetic and humorous young teenager active in CYO with Johhnny Munsey and about 80 other teenagers that I got very close as the moderator of the CYO......The whole Ruffilo family were a marvelous Catholic family, very active in the parish and in the community.
I will remember the family in my prayers and I do extend my sincerest sympathy to his wife, daughter and the whole family.
Sincerely,
Finbarr M Corr

Dear Carolyne, I can't find any words to express how I felt about Ray...he was a wonderful man...he always made us feel terrific when he would come into Carmela's on the way to the Firehouse for bread and tell us what they were having for supper...coming into the store after a haircut and asking my opinion as to if it was too short!! and of course I always told him he looked perfect...helping me lug all that stuff into the house when I would come over to do a country peddler party at your house...he had the best stories...I know how much he loved my Dad..especially when he told him to get out of Continental Can and find a better job because he was too smart to be working there!! and how about Valley Road...the list goes on and on....I will truly miss him...my thoughts are with you and your daughter during this difficult time...I know how much he loved and was proud of both of you...his picture in the paper and on the website is how I'll always remember him...much love to you...mary
