Obituary of Betty M. Appleton

Betty M. (Luyster) Appleton, age 91, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at Atrium At Wayne, Wayne. Mrs. Appleton was born October 17, 1921 in Clifton, the daughter of the late Thomas and the late Mary (Talscher) Luyster. She lived in Wayne and was a bookkeeper for many years at Pioneer Appliance Co. in Paterson, then worked in Meyer Brothers in Wayne and in Casual Women also in Wayne. Mrs. Appleton was a member of United Methodist Church in Wayne, the Wayne Adult Community Center, a volunteer at Wayne General Hospital, and the President of the Residence Council at the Atrium. Mrs. Appleton is survived by her loving children Carol and her husband Thaddeus Casserly, Robert and his wife Alice Appleton and Steven and his wife Filomena Appleton; her devoted grandsons, Michael, Daniel, Steven and James; her cherished great-grandchildren, Ivy and Cameron; and her dear siblings Lillian Pierce and Thomas Luyster. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert and her sister, Marie Muskivich. Visiting hours will be Saturday from 2-4 p.m. with a service at the funeral home at 4:00 p.m. and will be celebrated by Pastor Jeff Caldwell. There will be a private cremation.
