Obituary of Walter Richard Symons

Walter Richard Symons, age 90, died Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at home in Orlando, FL. Mr. Symons was born October 22, 1917 in Paterson, NJ the son of the late Walter S. and the late Helen (Cubby) Symons. He lived in Orlando for about 5 years and was formerly of North Haledon where he served as a councilman. Mr. Symons was employed by NJ Division of Motor Vehicles, Totowa, as an Inspector, for 25 years. He was a member of the Woodbury Presbyterian Church in Orlando, FL and the Mt. View Masonic Lodge # 154 in Wayne. Mr. Symons is survived by his wife of 60 years, Grace (Barber); his son Scott and his wife Cookie Symons of Orlando, FL; his grandsons, Brian & Craig of Lincoln Park, and Michael of Orlando, FL; four sisters: Grace Rothwell, Helen Nahass, Doris Carroll and Juanita Miller and a brother Raymond. Visiting hours will be Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The funeral will be Friday at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Deacon Thomas Kimak officiating. Interment will be in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
