Obituary of Leo Abate

Leo Abate, age 87, died Monday, July 21, 2008 at Sentara Bayside Hospital, Virginia Beach, VA. Mr. Abate was born March 10, 1921 in Bronx, NY the son of the late Riccardo and the late Enrichetta (Angiono) Abate. He moved to Wayne in 1958 and was formerly of New York. He was employed by Levolor Lorentzen Co., Hoboken, NJ as a Plant Manager for 50 Years. Mr. Abate is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elvia (Toneatto); his daughter: Mary Beth and her husband John Leonhard, his sons: Richard and his wife Jan, James and his wife Barbara; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Marc Mancini and Msgr. Demkovich on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Valley R. C. Church, 630 Valley Rd., Wayne and at 8:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Laurel Grove Mausoleum, Totowa.
