Obituary of James J. DeMarco
James J. DeMarco, Sr., age 80, died Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at the Atrium at Wayne. Mr. DeMarco was born August 30, 1932 in Garfield, the son of the late Antonio and the late Giuseppa (Macaiome) DeMarco. Residing in Garfield until 1972, he moved to Clifton and then to Wayne in 2010. Mr. DeMarco served as a 2nd lieutenant in the US Army from 1956 to 1958. He retired as a supervisor, employed by Presto Lock in Garfield for 40 years. He then worked at Square D in Parsippany. Mr. DeMarco was a member of St. Andrew the Apostle R.C. Church in Clifton and previously of Our Lady of Mount Virgin in Garfield.
Mr. DeMarco is survived by his loving son James, Jr. and his wife Tracey; devoted grandfather of Tyler and Kimberly; dear brother of Anthony DeMarco, Marie Brigati, and Antoinette Scaravelloni. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen (Tkacz) in 2007, his sister, Ann Sasso in 2012 and his brother, Salvatore in 2003.
Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
The funeral Mass will be Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel, 155 West Parkway, Pompton Plains and will be celebrated by Fr. Julio Barrios.
Private cremation to follow.
