Dear friends and family,
Thank you for all the beautiful input. Our week at home was absolutely lovely. We were surrounded almost constantly with the best conversation and good vibrations possible. If you were there, thank you and if you were not, thank you for being there in spirit. The generosity was overwhelming in all aspects.
We think we had an unusual visitation. A butterfly was hanging around the back porch for two days. The first visit Jimmy took a really good close up gander while it was perched on the back porch light. The next afternoon it made itself very obvious by practically dive bombing us without getting close. It landed on the hanging flower basket and hung out for a while. Then it landed on Roger's heart for a moment. We were all infatuated and the next thing you know it lands on Roger's head and hangs out for enough time that Jimmy goes into the kitchen and finds a camera, returns to the porch and learns how to use it. He got a great shot, it was a very patient butterfly on Roger's head. We have pictures to prove it. Amazing that these visitations occurred only when Alison, Jon, Liz, Jimmy and Roger were the only ones present. To help clarify things, Roger and Marj had an incredible fun relationship. Excellent senses of humor cracking each other up constantly. The butterfly teased Roger in front of her children because their relationship afforded it and the siblings some times seem to take things a little too seriously.
Love, Jon

Alison, although I never met your Mom, I know that she was a wonderful woman -- because you are her daughter. May you find peace in the memories you will always treasure.

She really lived....
While Aunt Marj played the "tough broad from Lyndhurst" on the outside, I always knew that on the inside was a heart of gold, a heart big enough to hold all the love she had for all her family and frieds. she knew I saw through to that love and together we laughed easily about that "tough broad". She knew herself well and shared herself with me... she really lived. That's what I will miss most.

I had the pleasure of meeting Marjorie on only one occassion last summer. Having been friends with her daughter, Alison, for many years, her engaging personality came as no surprise. I remember thinking as we parted that afternoon that I hoped there would be more pleasant afternoons together....Time slipped by quickly as the sand does as it approaches the end of the hour glass, and suddenly she was gone....gone that is until we meet again.
