Obituary of John H. Sturman

John H. Sturman, age 91, died Saturday, June 4, 2013 at Tidewell Hospice, Sarasota, FL. Mr. Sturman was born July 15, 1921 in Jersey City, NJ the son of the late Herbert and the late Edith (Tear) Sturman. He was a mechanical engineer who worked in the aeronautic industry before becoming a teacher at Bloomfield Tech in the Essex County school system. Mr. Sturman lived in Wayne since 1950 prior to retiring in Osprey, Florida. He was a founding member of St. Michael's Episcopal Church, Wayne, NJ. Mr. Sturman is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years, Helen (Sumek); his loving children, daughter Lynn and her husband Nigel Mison and son John. He was predeceased by his son, Jeffrey Alan; his grandchildren, Ryan Arthur and Geri Beth; his brother, Harold Sturman; and his sisters Muriel Coriell and Olive Sturman. Visiting hours will be Friday from 2-4 p.m. at the funeral home. The funeral will be Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Michael's Episcopal Church, 1219 Ratzer Rd., Wayne and will be celebrated by Rev. Keith A. Gentry. Entombment will be in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
