Obituary of Daniel T. La Porta

Daniel T. La Porta, age 80, died Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at Llanfair House, Wayne. Mr. La Porta was born August 7, 1927 in Hoboken, NJ the son of the late Joseph and the late Mary (Basilice) La Porta. He lived in Wayne and was formerly of Hoboken and Jersey City. Mr. La Porta served in the US Army during Korean War. He was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Pompton Lakes. Mr. La Porta is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Mary (nee Elia); loving daughter Linda and her husband Robert Rooney; devoted grand-daughters Megan and Shannon and loving brother Gerald. He was predeceased by his brothers, James and Joseph. Visiting hours will be Friday from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Kevin Downey on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's R.C. Church, Pompton Lakes. Entombment will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Hackensack. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's R.C.
