Obituary of Donald Salmanowitz

Donald Salmanowitz, age 83, died Sunday, February 17, 2008 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Paterson. Mr. Salmanowitz was born October 6, 1924 in Paterson, NJ the son of the late Nathan and the late Beatrice (Graf) Salmanowitz. He lived in Paterson. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a firefighter with Engine Company # 12 Paterson for 27 years retiring in 1982. Mr. Salmanowitz was a member of Park East Terrace Seniors. He is survived by his wife: Esther (DeGroot) , a daughter: Donna and her husband Art Hamilton, three sons: Raymond and his late wife Marjorie Berdan, Gary and his wife Mary Berdan, Timothy and his wife Kathy Berdan, 7 grandchildren, Amy, Holly, Dustin, Timothy, Ashley, Jason & Greg, 2 great-grandchilden, Carly & Jimmy; one sister: Jacqueline, 3 brothers, Ira, Jim And Bob . He was predeceased by his brothers, Nathan & Arthur and sister, Claire. Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM . A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday at 10:00 am at St. Therese R.C.Church, 13th Avenue and East 33rd St., Paterson . Interment will be in Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.
