Obituary of Jane Amelia Doorn

Jane Amelia (nee Smith) Doorn, died at home on January 26, 2008 surrounded by her loving family after a courageous battle with pulmonary fibrosis. Mrs. Doorn was born April 3, 1926 in Phillipsburg, NJ the daughter of the late James and the late Amelia (Richbourg) Smith. She lived in Wayne the last 28 years and was formerly of Totowa. She was a graduate of St. Joseph School of Nursing and retired from St. Joseph's Hospital Paterson in 1982 where she was an Emergency Room Registered Nurse. Mrs. Doorn was a member of Our Lady of the Valley R. C. Church, Wayne. She is survived by her husband of 57 years : John Henry, daughters: Jane D. Bradley and William, Judith Doorn-Mury and Gregory Mury, Jo-Ellen M. Doorn, and two sons: James J. Doorn and Roberta, Jeffrey M. Doorn and Cindy Browning, daughter-in-law, MaryAnn Doorn; grandchildren, James, Julianne, Allyson, Timothy, Skyler, Kaitlin And Colby; brother-in-law, Alfred R. Doorn; nieces and nephews; Patricia Delport, Lisa Byrne, Kristen Ash, John M. Doorn and Kris Doorn and "special daughters" Cheryl Kaminski, Emma Popomaier and Lori DeLuca.She joins in heaven her beloved son, John H. Doorn, Jr.,who passed away in 1996, her sister Elizabeth Byrne and her parents. Visiting hours will be Monday from 3-5 & 7-9 PM . A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 9:30 am at Our Lady of the Valley R. C. Church, 630 Valley Rd., Wayne and will be celebrated by Msgr. George F. Hundt.
