Obituary of Joseph Edward McMahon
Joseph Edward McMahon, age 81, died Thursday, January 24, 2008 at Chilton Memorial Hospital, Pequannock Twsp. Mr. McMahon was born July 18, 1926 in Asbury Park, the son of the late Martin J. and the late Mary (O'Connor) McMahon. He lived in Wayne and was formerly of Bronx and Long Island until 1961. He served in the US Navy from 7/13/1944 to 8/20/1946 and American Theater Medal and the Victory Medal. He was employed by American Cyanamid, Wayne, as a Human Resources Managing Administrator. Mr. McMahon was a charter member, an usher and a member of the Lazarus Committee at Our Lady Of Consolation R.C. Church.
He is survived by his wife: Elizabeth (Carty), two daughters: Elizabeth and her husband John Itzie, Theresa and her husband Danny Blue; four sons: Kenneth and his Wife Cathy, Vincent and his wife Lynne, Gerry and his wife Suzanne, Frank McMahon; grandchildren, Christopher, Daniel, Nicholas, Timothy, Kelli, Christina and Ryan.
Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2-6 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady Of Consolation R.C. Church, 1799 Hamburg Tpke., Wayne. Interment will be in Christ The King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes.
