Obituary of James Joseph Knapp

James Joseph Knapp, age 82, died Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Missouri Veterans Home, Warrensburg, MO. Mr. Knapp was born April 28, 1925 in Paterson, NJ the son of the late Joseph and the late Mary (Cannon) Knapp. He lived in Warrensburg and was formerly of Wayne,NJ. He served in the US Navy during World War II. Mr. Knapp was employed by ANCO Tool as a Machinist before retiring in 1989. A tenor himself, James loved music, especially from Ireland. He was a lover of people and always tried to find humor in all situations. He loved sports and was an avid fan of Notre Dame football. He is survived by two daughters: Shirley Knapp and Donna Knapp, two sons: Harold and his wife Brenda and Edward and his wife Kelly , 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and a brother Peter M.Knapp He was preceded in death by four siblings; Marie, Joseph, Charles and William, and his granddaughter, Sarah. The family will receive friends on Thursday, Jan. 31, 2008 from 7-9 PM at Moore's Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Road, Wayne. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, Feb. 1, 2008 at 11:00a.m. Our Lady Of The Valley R. C. Church, 630 Valley Rd., Wayne will be Celebrated by Fr. James Moss. Interment will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa.
