Obituary of William A. Head

William A. Head, age 72, died Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Hospice Of New Jersey, Wayne. Mr. Head was born August 9, 1935 in New York, NY the son of the late William and the late Caroline (Golick) Head. He lived in Pompton Lakes the last 28 years. He served in the US Army. He was retired from New York City Police Department in 1979 where he was a Detective and a member of the PBA. Mr. Head was a member of St. Mary's R.C. Church, Pompton Lakes. He is survived by his wife of 50 years : Helen M. (Amen), one son: William M. Head, one sister: Anne M. Hoog, niece, Karen O'Keefe; Great Niece & nephew; Ryan & Kristi. He was predeceased by his sister, Joan Mortellaro. Visiting hours will be Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Moore's Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Road, Wayne, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday at 9:30 am at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 17 Pompton Ave, Pompton Lakes and will be Celebrated by Fr. Kevin Downey. Interment will be in Christ The King Cemetery, Franklin Lakes.
