Obituary of Paul Cress
Paul Cress, a.k.a. Apostolos Chrisomales, age 94, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013 in New York. Mr. Chrisomales was born February 19, 1919 in New York, NY the son of the late Thomas and the late Veneta (Papajohn) Chrisomales. He lived in near Columbus Circle before moving to Queens. He was a technical sergeant and platoon leader serving in the US Army during World War II. Mr. Chrisomales was the owner of View-Rite Manufacturing, a mass transit advertising company in Long Island City. He was always at the business, even after retiring in 1993. Mr. Chrisomales enjoyed visiting Archdiocesan Cathedral of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in NY.
Mr. Chrisomales is survived by his wife Julie; his three loving sons William and his wife Farri Cress and John Cress and Russell Cress; his cherished granddaughters Phaedra and Juliet; his loving sister Christina Poll; and his beloved life partner and care giver Rita Ferber. He was predeceased by his brothers, Louis Cress, James Cress and his sister, Mary Sotos.
Visiting hours will be Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm with a trisaghion with Fr. Bill Gikas at 8 pm.
The funeral Mass will be Saturday at 9:30 am at St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church, 467 Grandview Avenue, Wyckoff and will be celebrated by Fr. Bill.
Entombment will follow in Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah.
