Obituary of Wolfgang F. Vogel

Wolfgang F. Vogel, age 94, died Wednesday, March 20, 2002 at home in Lawrenceville. Dr. Vogel was born May 6, 1907 in Bromberg, Germany, the son of the late Ignaz and the late Caroline W. Vogel. He lived in Leipzig Germany, Pennsylvania and Totowa before moving to Lawrenceville. Dr. Vogel, a graduate of the University of Leipzig was an internist and gastroenterologist in private practice in Totowa before retiring in 1981. Previously, he worked at St. Josephs Regional Medical Center and in private practice Paterson. He served in the US Army during World War II as his physician. He was a member of the Passaic County Medical Society, The American Medical Association, the New Jersey Medical Society, the Gastroenterological Society of NJ and the YMCA of Paterson. He was a member of The Church of the Covenant. He is survived by his wife: Helga Streitberg, two daughters: Barbara & Ted Graham of Lawrenceville, NJ, Elizabeth & Don Carloni of San Hosea, CA, two sons: Stephen of Tucson, AZ, Peter of Thousand Oaks, CA, one sister: Ingeborg Vogel of Falls Church, VA, 15 grandchildren &12 great grandchildren. The memorial service will be Saturday at 1:00 pm at Warren Point Presbyterian Church, Broadway & 17th Street, Fair Lawn will be celebrated by Rev. Leininger.
