Obituary of Fred Engel Neil
Fred Engel Neil, age 88, died Thursday, July 5, 2007 at Franciscan Oaks Health Center, Denville. Mr. Neil was born February 4, 1919 in Paterson, the son of the late Stuart and the late Louise (Siepert) Neil. He lived in Denville and was formerly of Wayne. He served in the US Army during World War II being awarded the Good Conduct Medal, WW II Victory Medal; American Campaign Medal and the European-African-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal. He was the president of Standard Hardware Store, Paterson. Mr. Neil was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post # 2906, Pompton Lakes. And the 3rd Presbyterian Church, Paterson.
He is survived by his wife: Margaret (Carnegie), children: Helene Brengard, Fred Neil, Bill Shaw and Carol Martin, sisters: Alice Thompson, Ethel Platt, June Meehan and one brother: Charles Neil, 9 grandchildren: Peter, Denise, Dawn, Joseph, Katie, Meghan, Nellie and Barbara and great-grandsons: Christopher and Kenny. He was predeceased by his first wife, Helene (Mc Coy).
Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2-4 p.m.
The funeral is Monday at 10:30 am at Moore's Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Road, Wayne and will be celebrated by Rev. Warren Brandt. Interment will be in Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.
