Obituary of Josephine Murat
Josephine (McCauley) Murat, age 96, died Friday, June 22, 2007 at home in Clifton. Mrs. Murat was born January 30, 1911 in Paterson, NJ the daughter of the late James and the late Ethel V. (Harrison) McCauley. She lived in Clifton and was formerly of Paterson. She was a graduate of Paterson Central High School and Drake's Business School. She was employed many years as a bookkeeper and office manager by Bowl-O-Mat Corporation worked in the office of Pallman Pulverizers, Clifton until retired. She was actively engaged in her affiliation with her two sons in the family business of Acme Engraving Corporation, Passaic. She was a life long member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and actively engaged in various committees. She was a treasurer and president of St. Margaret's Guild and a volunteer in the office. She was a thirty two year member of the Paterson Chapter of Zonta International, having served over eight years as treasurer. She was a volunteer for the Paterson General Hospital Auxillary and a Den mother for Cub Scout Troop # 74, Clifton. Mrs. Murat was active in many social activities including membership in Young at Heart Socail Club and Singletarians Bridge Club.
She is survived by two sons: Ralph And His Wife Natalie Murat and Roy And His Wife Carolyn Murat,a sister Sally McCauley , 4 Grandchildren : Laurie Murat Bergman, Lynn Murat Weber, Kimberly Murat and Albert Murat, 4 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.She was predeceased by her husband, Albert E..
Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM.
The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:00 am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, and will be Celebrated by Rev. David Wolf. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery, Paterson.
