Obituary of Gerard Albert Farese
Gerard Albert ''Jerry'' Farese, age 89, died Thursday, April 18, 2013 at Sunrise Assisted Living, Wayne. Mr. Farese was born January 2, 1924 in Jersey City, the son of the late Venanzio and the late Marietta (Bellina) Farese. He was a resident of Wayne for 57 years. Mr. Farese served in the US Marine Corps during World War II and received the Purple Heart & Gold Star for injuries in Saipan and Iwo Jima and also the Navy & Marine Corp Medal for heroic conduct. He was employed by Yegan Associates in Teaneck as a Financial Services Manager for over 40 years before retiring. Mr. Farese was a founding member of Our Lady of the Valley R.C. Church, Wayne and a member of BPO Elks #2181, Wayne.
Mr. Farese is survived by his beloved wife Ann (Tramontano) Farese; his devoted children James and his wife Susan Farese, Lawrence and his wife Patti Farese, Jerry Farese, Renee and her husband Joe Gillies, Lisa and her husband Scott Freidenrich; 14 loving grandchildren and 8 cherished great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be Sunday from 3-7 PM.
The funeral Mass will be Monday at 11:00 am at Our Lady of The Valley R.C. Church, 630 Valley Rd., Wayne and will be celebrated by Father ST Sutton.
Private cremation will follow.
