Obituary of Henry Tamboer Bosland

Henry Tamboer Bosland, age 90, died Sunday, January 28, 2007 at Hospice Of Palm Beach County, Palm Beach, Fl. Mr. Bosland was born March 21, 1916 in Prospect Park, NJ the son of the late John and the late Petranilla (Tamboer) Bosland. He lived in Lake Worth, Fl and was formerly of Totowa and South Kortright, NY. He was the owner/operator of Boslands Ice Cream Bar in Totowa for many years.It was a local teenage hangout where you could watch the ice cream being made through a hugh front window. He also owned an egg farm in in Jefferson, NY. Later he owned and opertated The Hidden Inn in South Kortright, NY with his son David and daughter, Jo Ann. Mr. Bosland was a member of the Kiwanis Club, Stamford,NY. In 1974, he retired and moved to Lake Worth, FL. Henry worked part time for the Delray Beach Club and Quail Ridge Country Club as a Chef. He is survived by his wife of 65 years: Hope Furler of Lake Worth, one daughter: Jo Ann Guertin and her husband Eugene of Boynton Beach, FL, two sons: John C. Sr,. and his wife Barbara of West Palm Beach, FL and David H. of West Palm Beach, FL, one brother: William Mahl of Wayne, NJ, Grandchildren: John C.,Jr. Lisa Sherrill and her husband Tim, Brianne and Linsey Guertin ; Great-grandchildren; Kayla and Hunter Sherrill, Corey Guertin, Katy Bosland, nieces and nephews; Barbara Moore, Beverly Taylor, Pricilla Albey, Patti Battista And Bill Atkinson. He was predeceased by his brother, Robert, sister, Mary Mahl and Granddaughter, Jennifer Guertin. The memorial service will be Thursday at 11:00 am at Cason United Methodist Church, 342 N. Swinton Avenue, Delray Beach, FL and will be Celebrated by Pastor Sharon G. Austin. Interment will be in Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.
