Obituary of Anthony J. Contento

Anthony J. Contento, age 82, died Tuesday, January 16, 2007 at Holly Manor Center, Mendham. Mr. Contento was born June 26, 1924 in Edgewater, NJ the son of the late Joseph and the late Mary (LaMarca) Contento. He lived in Lafayette and was formerly of Cliffside Park, Oradell and Paterson. He served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. In the 70s, 80s and 90s he was the owner/operator of Totowa Liquors in Paterson until retiring. Mr. Contento was a member of St. Mary Help of Christians R. C. Church, Paterson. He was a member of the St. Joseph's Council 3814,Knights of Columbus in New Milford. Previously, he was the owner/operator of Contento TV service, Cliffside Park, Later he worked in Asia and Puerto Rico with Curtiss Wright, Wood Ridge training pilots and serviced flight simulators. He also owned Hunts Pharmacy in Paterson and Oradell and Warrens Ice Cream Parlor in Waldwick. He is survived by two daughters: Antonette Lynn Weininger of New Milford, NJ, Theresa Zaorski of Lafayette, NJ, one son: Nickolas Contento of Morristown, NJ, one sister: Mary Dolly DeCrescenzo of Midland Park, NJ, one brother: James of Orient, NY, 6 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 11:00 am at Madonna Historic Church on the Hill, 2070 Hoefley's Lane, Fort Lee. Interment will be in Madonna Cemetery. Visiting will be on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Moores Home for Funerals, 1591 Alps Road, Wayne, NJ.
