Obituary of Claude R. Brewer

Claude R. Brewer, age 87, died Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at home in Wayne. Mr. Brewer was born August 29, 1918 in West New York, NJ the son of the late John and the late Cecilia (Kunstele) Brewer. He lived in Wayne and was formerly of Dumont. He was a Self-Employed Carpenter. Mr. Brewer was a World War II Army Veteran and was a POW in Germany from 12/17/44- 4/29/45. He received the American Theater Ribbon, EAME Ribbon with a bronze star, Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart and the Victory medal. Mr. Brewer was a member of American Legion Anthony Wayne Post # 174, Wayne. He is survived by one daughter: Claudia Vogel of Wayne, two sisters: Edna Cosney of New Milford and Irene Berman of Hackensack, two brothers: Matthew and Walter of NY, many nieces and nephews, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife, Anna Pikarsky in 1978 and a brother, John. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Moore's Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Road, Wayne, NJ. The funeral will be Friday at 10:00 AM at Moore's Home For Funerals, with Rev. Michael McKay officiating. Burial will be in George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
