Obituary of Kathleen Mary Heffernan

Kathleen Mary (Vanderwoude) Heffernan, age 85, died Monday, February 11, 2013 at Newton Medical Center, Newton. Mrs. Heffernan was born December 7, 1927 in Paterson, the daughter of the late Samuel and the late Anita (Bush) Vanderwoude. She lived in Sparta and was formerly of Haskell and Ringwood. Mrs. Heffernan was employed by H&R Block and the State of NJ as a tax preparer before retiring. Mrs. Heffernan is survived by her loving daughter Michaele Spagnola and sons Gerald W., Brian T., and Shawn M. Heffernan; her 7 devoted grandchildren and 9 cherished great grandchildren; and her dear sister Anita White and brother William Vanderwoude. She was predeceased by her husband, Michael F. Heffernan in 2002. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be Thursday at 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. There will be a private cremation.
