Obituary of Anthony James Santoro, MD
Anthony James Santoro, MD, age 86, died Saturday, June 25, 2005 at home in Wayne. Mr. Santoro, was born July 3, 1918 in Paterson, NJ the son of the late James M. and the late Angelina (Rotondi) Santoro. He lived in Wyckoff for over 50 years before moving to Wayne. He was a graduate of St. Peters College and Georgetown University. Dr. Santoro was employed by St. Josephs Hospital in Paterson where he was an Orthopedic Physician for over 50 years before retiring in 1986. He was also an accomplished guitarist and played with the John Michal Band, the Ted Bienecke Band and the Activities Unlimited Band.
Dr. Santoro was a former parishioner of of St. Elizabeth RC Church, Wyckoff.
He is survived by his wife the former: Helen C. Hughes, three daughters: Jean Bass of Chicago, IL, Ellen Jakobsen of Pompton Lakes, NJ, and Lisa Santoro of Ridgewood, NJ, three sons: Anthony of LasVegas, NV, James of Seattle, WA and Michael of Hoboken.

Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Moore's Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Road, Wayne, NJ. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10:30 AM at Our Lady Of Consolation R.C. Church, 1799 Hamburg Tpke., Wayne where a Mass will be Celebrated by Fr. Michael Lombardo. Private cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Joseph's Hospital & Medical Center Foundation, 703 Main Street, Paterson, NJ 07503
