Obituary of Clifford L. Turner

Clifford L. Turner, age 78, died Monday, June 6, 2005 at Hospice Of New Jersey, Wayne. Mr. Turner was born January 4, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY the son of Clifford L. and Avis L. (Schoenfeld) Turner, He lived in Wayne since 1971 and was formerly of Brooklyn.He was an Army Air Corps Veteran and served during World war II. Mr. Turner was a 1952 graduate of the University of Alabama with a BA in Accounting. He was employed by IBM in New York and later in Franklin Lakes,NJ where he was CPA for 25 years before retiring, previously he worked for Price Waterhouse in NY. Mr. Turner attended St. Mary's R.C. Church, Pompton Lakes and was an avid swimmer at the YWCA in Ridgewood.. He was a member of the Pines Lake Seniors, The NY Society of CPAs, The Nature Conservancy and the Sierra Club. He was a volunteer tax preparer for the local AARP for 10 years. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, the former: Elizabeth Swendsen, two daughters: Anne Turner and her husband E. Craig Eaton of Croton On Hudson, NY,June Turner and her husband Eric Taylor and their son Jacob of Richmond, VA. two sons: C.Gerry Turner of Pompton Lakes, NJ and James and his wife Debra and Son Shawn of Lake Stevens, WA. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Moore's Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Road, Wayne, NJ. The funeral service will be Thursday at 8:00 PM at Moore's Home For Funerals with Rev. Kevin Downey officiating. Burial will be in The Evergreens Cemetery, Brooklyn, NY. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to YWCA of Bergen County,112 Oak St., Ridgewood, NJ 07450
