Uncle Sy was not just an uncle but a father figure to my brothers and I. He always showed an interest in both our work and family life - with the intention for us to live a honest, fulfilling life - But most importantly emphasizing that family needs to stick together no matter what.
Through my childhood, Uncle Sy would arrange family fishing trips, make time to see us on the weekend and always be available to help fix stuff around the house - Once again showing an interest in our lives and development.
Even after I had started a family of my own, Uncle Sy was there to help around the house, provide his positive influence and love.
When Mei li gave birth to our son we named our son Robert Sylvester - to honor and show appreciation to Uncle Sy and the man he is.
Uncle Sy, while your presence will be greatly missed your advice and philosophy will live within me-
thank you for your love and patience you had a big impact on me and my family - you will always be in my thoughts.
Love - Rob

Uncle Sy was and will continue to be an inspiration throughout my life. May early memories of visiting my Grandfather - Frank - included time spent with Uncle Sy. Very much appreciated being able to talk recently on the phone with him. He will be missed.

Uncle Sy was an inspiration to everyone. A good man, a caring husband and super with all the children. He lived a long and prosperous life and was proud of his actions that turned into great stories and events. Ami and I first Met Sy and Sally when he was around 82- dancing away at Rob and Mei Li’s wedding. He loved life and knew how to live it and was strong and vibrant all through his 80’s. We will miss Uncle Sy and we are thankful for the time we shared with him and Sally on all the family Holiday events.

Uncle Sy was a loving and great man. He taught me many things ..How to play the harmonica, build paper airplanes and to sing loud and proud..Now and ever and forever I love you .. I loved listening to his stories about when he was young and his army and cop days. We had many great times together playing with the instruments, picking apple in his backyard and feeding the deers and eating at uncle Sy's restaurant . I really enjoyed uncle Sy's Rice I love him and miss him very much
