Obituary of Joseph J. Smith

Joseph J. Smith, age 82, died Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at home in Pompton Lakes. Mr. Smith was born January 20, 1922 in Paterson, the son of the late Joseph and the late Jean (White) Smith, He lived in Pompton Lakes and was formerly of Clifton. He served in the US Army during World war II. He was employed by Zales in Nauet, NY where he was Salesman before retiring and also worked for Abelsons Jewerly in Paterson. Mr. Smith was a member of D.A.V. and Christ Episcopal Church, Ramapo & Passaic Ave, Pompton Lakes. He is survived by his wife the former: Marion Neill, one son: George Smith of Pompton Lakes, a brother: Herb Smith of Wayne, and two Grand Daughters, Barbara Lobo and Karen Claffey. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at Moore's Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Rd., Wayne, NJ. The funeral will be Friday at 10:00 AM at Moore's Home For Funerals, with Fr. John Rollins officiating. Entombment will be in Laurel Grove Mausoleum, Totowa.
