Obituary of Florence Abbott

Florence Abbott, age 98, of Wayne died Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at the Lakeland Health Care Center in Haskell. Ms. Abbott was born October 22, 1905 in Paterson, NJ the son of the late Francis W. and the late Ida (Lister) Abbott. She lived most of her life in Paterson before moving to Wayne 5 years ago. She was employed by the Paterson Board Of Education as an elementary school teacher for 39 years before retiring in 1965. Ms. Abbott was a former member of the Trinity Episcopal Church in Paterson. She was also a member of the churchs Altar Guild and choir and a Sunday School teacher. She was also the former secretary of the Girls Friendly at the church. Ms. Abbott was also the former treasurer of the Episcopal Church Women. She was predeceased by her sister Edna Buckley in 1970. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be Friday May 7, 2004 from 2-4 & 7-9PM at Moore's Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Rd., Wayne, NJ. The funeral will be Saturday May 8, 2004 at 10:30AM at the Christ Episcopal Church, 329 Totowa Road, Totowa with Rev. Mark Waldon officiating. A private cremation will follow.
