Obituary of Gerald Francis Rogers

Gerald Francis Rogers, age 74, of Wayne and Dade City, Fl passed away Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at his home in Dade City. Mr. Rogers was born June 14, 1929 in Amsterdam, NY the son of the late Francis and the late Amelia (Lias) Rogers. He was the owner of Derbyshires Unpainted Furniture Store on Rt 23 in Wayne until his retirement in 1989. He married Nancy Derbyshire 8/21/1954 in Hawthorne,NJ. He served in the US Navy with the 6th fleet during the Korean Conflict. An avid camper and hiker, Jerry was a member of the WBCCI Wally Byam caravan club international and the ICA International caravan Association. He and his wife hiked and camped extensively throughtout the US, Canada and Europe. He was a member of the Preakness Reformed Church in Wayne. He is survived by his wife of 50 years the former Nancy Derbyshire, three sons: Robert and his wife Mary of Wayne, NJ, Richard and his wife Nancy of Daly City, CA, and Brian and his wife JoAnn of Lake Hiawatha, NJ, and 5 Grandchildren, Kelsy and Maggie of Wayne, Martina and Max of Daly City, CA and Kelly of Lake Hiawatha. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 3-5 & 7-9PM at Moore's Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Rd., Wayne, NJ. The funeral will be Friday at 11:00AM at the Preakness Reformed Church, 131 Church Lane, Wayne. Burial will be in Preakness Reformed Cemetery, Wayne.
