Obituary of John Emmanuel Valenta

John Emmanuel Valenta, age 81, of Sterling Forest, NY died Thursday, March 4, 2004 at his daughters home in Barnegat, NJ. Mr. Valenta was born December 5, 1922 in Hrabenov,Czechoslovakia, the son of the late John and the late Mary (Narvatilova) Valenta. He came to the US at age 14 and lived in Sterling Forest, NY and wintered in Deerfield Beach, Fl. He married Agnes Strauch in 1947. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945 during World War II. He was the owner operator of several Service stations, most recently,Johnnys Service Station in Greenwood Lake, NY. He also owned the Lincoln Restaurant in Paterson for many years. Mr. Valenta was a Life member of BPO Elks # 2067, The American Legion and the Lions Club all in Greenwood Lake,NY. He was a musician and had his own band called the Polka Dot Band . He played the Accordian and the drums. He is survived by his wife: Agnes (Strauch), three daughters: Linda Parzek of Wayne, NJ, Diane (Cookie) Palinski of Sacramento, CA, Susan Weber of Barnegat, NJ, two sons: John J. of Sterling Forest, NY, Steven of Greenwood Lake, NY, one brother: Stanley of Owings, MD, Granddaughter, Stefanie Koppenal of Cornelius, NC; Granddaughter, Jennifer Volz of Lincoln Park, NJ; Granddaughter, Dorie McLemore of Napa, CA; Granddaughter, Melissa Vaughn of Sacramento, CA; Granddaughter, Sandra Everett of Sacramento, CA; Grandson, Kevin Weber of Barnegat, NJ; Granddaughter, Kaitlyn Valenta of Sterling Forest, NY; Great- Grandchildren, Brendan And Makenna McLemore He was predeceased by his brother, Jerry , sister, Frances Osladil, sister, Mary Navratil Visiting hours will be Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9PM at Moore's Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Rd., Wayne, NJ.
