Obituary of Arlene T. Bassano
Arlene T. (Chapola) Bassano, age 81, of Wrightstown died Monday, November 24, 2003 at Centra State Hospital, Freehold.
Mrs. Bassano was born May 24, 1922 in Edinboro, PA the daughter of the late Joseph and the late Aniela (Zavashlanski) Chapola. She lived in Paterson until moving to Wrightstown 3 years ago.
She was the owner/operator of Arlenes Tavern in Paterson,NJ for many years. Later, she was a driver for the Jewish Family Services, Livingston and then at Station Wagon Services, Totowa before retiring. She was a Pro bowler for many years in the Passaic, Bergen and Essex County leagues.
She is survived by three daughters: Arlene and her husband Ron Rippey of Wayne, Cheryl and her husband Tom Trutt of Bloomingdale, and Kathy Verner of Merchantsville, one sister: Marianne Mrozik of Wayne, two brothers: Peter Chapola of Falls Church, VA,and Rudolph Chapola of Lake Champlain, NY, 5 grandchildren: Ron,Kelly,Collin, Aniela & Stacy and 5 great- granddaughters: Rachel,Lindsay, Chloe, Tabitha & Kasia .
Visiting hours will be Monday from 3-5 & 7-9PM at Moore's Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Rd., Wayne, NJ. The funeral will be Tuesday at 10:30 at Moore's Home For Funerals, Fr. Michael Lombardo officiating.
Burial will be in Laurel Grove Memorial Park, Totowa.
