Obituary of Norman Sergeant

Norman Sergeant, age 78, of Wayne died Monday, November 10, 2003 at Passaic Beth Israel Hospital, Passaic. Mr. Sergeant was born August 25, 1925 in Paterson, NJ the son of the late Robert and the late Mary Elizabeth (Lisk) Sergeant. He was a Gas Service Inspector employed by PSE&G in Paterson & Clifton,NJ for many years before retiring. Previously, he was a U.S. mail carrier in Paterson. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He is survived by his wife of 51 years: Joan (Kane) of Wayne, one daughter: Patricia and her husband Edward O'Dea of Atlanta, GA, one son: Norman, Jr. of Wayne, two sisters: Mae Stradling of Livermore, CA, and Irene Hayek of Manasquan, NJ Visiting hours will be Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9PM at Moore's Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Rd., Wayne, NJ. The funeral will be Friday at 9:30AM at Holy Cross R.C. Church, Holy Cross Way, Wayne where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Totowa. Memorial Donations may be made to Evas Kitchen and Sheltering Programs.
