Obituary of Viola Jones

Viola (Herrmann) Jones, age 85, of Wayne died Sunday, October 12, 2003 at home in Wayne. Mrs. Jones was born October 25, 1917 in East Orange, NJ the daughter of the late Emil and the late Anna (Muller) Herrmann. She lived in Irvington and summered in lake Hopatcong until moving to Wayne in 1952. Mrs. Jones earned an Associate Degree in Costume Design from Edgewater Academy in CT. She was a costume designer and dressmaker for many years. She was a member of the Pines Lake Garden Club for over 15 years, a 50-year member of the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club and a member of the Chilton Hospital Auxiliary, Pines Lake Chapter for 50 years logging in over 20,000 hours. She also was the bookkeeper and Co-Manager for the Chilton Hospital Thrift Shop. She owned and was a designer for her own jewelry shop called Jonsterk Designs of Wayne. Her and her husband donated over $ 700,000 to Chilton Memorial Hospital. She also was the bookkeeper for Q-5 Inc. in Wayne. She is survived by one daughter: Deborah Blood of Wayne, NJ She was predeceased by her husband, J. Douglas Jones Visiting hours will be Tuesday from 5-7PM at Moore's Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Rd., Wayne, NJ. The funeral will be Wednesday at 9:30 at Moore's Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Rd., Wayne. Burial will be in Restland Memorial Park, East Hanover.
