Obituary of Arthur Ellsworth Thompson Jr.

Arthur Ellsworth Thompson, Jr., age 84, of Wayne died Thursday, July 31, 2003 at Wayne View Nursing Center, Wayne. Mr. Thompson was born December 23, 1918 in Brooklyn, NY the son of the late Arthur Ellsworth and the late Helen Jennie (Elsasser) Thompson. He lived in North Masapequa, LI, NY before moving to Wayne,NJ last year. He served in the Navy as a radioman from 1942 to 1945 during World War II war. He was an Insurance Underwriter employed by Robert Plan , Bethpaige, LI, NY before retiring. Mr. Thompson was a member of Kirks Ancient Fife & Drum Corps and attended St. Mary's R.C. Church, Pompton Lakes, NJ He is survived by one daughter: Susan Thompson-Langer of Wayne, NJ, one sister: Florence Dophel of LI, NY, 3 grandchildren, William, Allison And Emily He was predeceased by his wife, Rose Theresa (Cullen). Visiting hours will be Friday from 3-5 & 7:30-9:30PM at Moore's Home For Funerals, 1591 Alps Rd., Wayne, NJ. The funeral will be Saturday at 9:00AM at St. Mary's R.C. Church, 17 Pompton Ave, Pompton Lakes where a Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated by Fr. Michael Carnevale. Burial will be in Nassau Knolls Cemetery, Port Washington on Saturday at 11:30 am.
